Fishing kills trillions of animals every year, destroys marine ecosystems, and accelerates the climate crisis. Fish feel pain, fear, and stress, yet society treats them as mere products, ignoring their right to live.

On March 29 and 30, Vegan Life joins the international initiative World Day for the End of Fishing and Fish Farming, organizing two days of action in Athens. We invite everyone to unite in the fight for the oceans and marine animals.

March 29 – Activist Action at Syntagma Square

Time: 18:00

Location: Syntagma Square

Vegan Life invites individuals and groups to take part in a peaceful activist action in defense of fish and other marine animals.

The action will be static, and we ask all participants to wear black as a sign of mourning for the countless marine animals slaughtered every year. Informational materials and placards will be provided to ensure a clear and cohesive message to the public.

Fish are not objects or food. They are sentient beings who feel, fear, suffer, and deserve justice.

March 30 – Film Screenings and Discussion

Time: 18:30

Location: Vegan Life HQ, Ellis 8, Kallithea

The next day, Vegan Life and Sea Shepherd Greece invite you to an evening dedicated to the ocean and activism, featuring two powerful film screenings followed by a discussion.

At 18:30, we will screen Return to Antarctica, a documentary about Sea Shepherd’s mission to protect the fragile Antarctic ecosystem.

At 19:00, we will show Seaspiracy, the groundbreaking documentary that exposed the dark side of the fishing industry, revealing the destruction it causes to the oceans and its connection to the climate crisis.

Following the screenings, there will be a discussion with Valia Stefanoudaki, Director of Sea Shepherd Greece, addressing key issues such as overfishing, marine ecosystem destruction, and practical solutions we can all adopt.

Admission is free.

Our oceans need us. Join us to be the voice of marine animals and fight for a world free from exploitation and destruction.
